Practice Exercise: Applying AI Concepts
Scenario:
You are an AI consultant hired by a new startup called "ConnectSphere," which is building an all-in-
one platform for team collaboration and project management. The leadership team has proposed
several new AI-powered features and wants your recommendation on which type of technology is
the best fit for each.
Your Task:
For each of the proposed features below, identify the primary AI/ML technology that should be used
(Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, Reinforcement Learning, or Generative AI/LLM).
Write a brief (1-2 sentence) justification for your choice, referencing the concepts from the video.
Proposed Features:
1. Automated Task Prioritization: The system needs to automatically label incoming tasks with
a priority level ('High', 'Medium', 'Low'). To do this, it will be trained on a dataset of 100,000
previous tasks that have already been manually prioritized by project managers.
2. User Persona Discovery: To improve marketing, the company wants to analyze all user
activity data (clicks, features used, time spent) to see if there are natural groupings or
'personas' of users, such as 'Power Planners' or 'Casual Communicators', without defining
these groups beforehand.
3. "Smart Summary" Assistant: A new feature that will allow users to click a button and have
the AI write a brand new, concise summary of a long project discussion thread, capturing the
key decisions and action items in a fresh paragraph.
4. Adaptive Onboarding Tutorial: A new tutorial system that guides a user through the
platform's features. The system will learn the most effective sequence of hints to show by
observing which actions lead to user success (progress) versus which lead to user confusion
(inaction or errors), adjusting its strategy over time.
